以極具辨識度的「擬形山水」創作語彙，在2026印度 Fiesta Art國際藝術大賽獲特選佳作

為全球觀眾帶來「冰火交融」獨特視覺體驗的作品「山味」(The Taste of Mountains)，驚艷印度「2026國際慶典藝術大賽」(2026 International Fiesta Art Competition, India)。印度知名策展團隊「賓達斯藝術集團」（Bindaas Artist Group）創辦人拉克什·庫馬爾·喬杜里博士（Dr. Rakesh Chaudhary）與評審團一致盛讚此創作，巧妙並置了東方傳統筆墨意境，大膽融入現代日常消費符號，既保有東方美學的內斂與詩性，也不迴避當代現實的矛盾與不安，讓水墨成為一種能夠回應全球語境的思想形式，其視覺美感呈現效果不再只是傳統山水的再現，而是一場跨越時間與文化的「轉譯」行動，形構出既熟悉又陌生、既詩意且具幽默感的視覺實驗能場，以「山水」為媒介，探索傳統與現代、永恆與消逝之間的哲學命題；正是在這樣的張力之中，並重視筆觸的剛柔變化、層次豐富的墨色，更善於透過細膩的形體轉換「異質並置」，以其獨樹一幟的「擬形山水」概念作品，於大賽眾多國際傑作中脫穎而出，榮獲特選佳作。擁有國立臺灣師範大學美術學系藝術學碩士背景的水墨藝術家葉修英，展現出深厚的文化底蘊與當代意義，引發強烈的跨文化時代共鳴。

葉修英的水墨作品，帶有詩意與隱憂的敘事，具備了當代藝術中極為珍貴的批判性與反思空間。她創作「山味」時，精湛地運用了傳統水墨的皴法描繪古樸峻嶺，卻出人意表地將酷似山形的冰淇淋置於龍紋瓷碗中，形成鮮明的古今對望奇異情境。對她而言，「山象徵著恆久與自然的精神寄託，而冰淇淋則是當代消費文化中感官愉悅與瞬息即逝的甜美代表。兩者之間的凝視，既像古今文化的對話，也隱喻記憶與時間的流動。」兩者在畫面上的「異質並置」，不僅僅是符號的重組，兩者凝視的瞬間，時間的流動就像文化記憶與現代慾望的對話。她透過筆墨的深淺變化與形式轉化，在熟悉與陌生之間游移，傳遞出一種「融化中」的文化焦慮—當我們在現代生活中追求極致的感官愉悅時，那些厚重的歷史與傳統價值，是否正如同烈日下的冰淇淋般，迅速消融？! 她表示，這種異質並置不僅展現東方審美的詩意幽默，更隱喻當代社會中傳統與速食文化的緊張關係，引發觀者對「永恆」與「短暫」本質的反思；思考「傳統」與「現代」並非對立，而是持續生成的關係。

另一件指標性作品「冰淇淋王國」(Ice Cream Kingdom) 展現了葉修英對社會結構與權力慾望的宏觀洞察，更具批判性的層次。「創作靈感來自媒體中頻繁出現的權力爭奪畫面」，在作品畫面上，她以整齊排列、色彩繽紛的冰淇淋堆疊出宏偉的山形，底部穩固的金字塔結構與向外延伸的V形構圖，象徵著人類文明中勝利的姿態與權力的渴望。然而，這份甜美與秩序卻在她的畫筆下顯得如履薄冰。葉修英巧妙地將傳統山水的精神性(恆久與自然)，轉化為「冰淇淋」的脆弱與易逝(消費文化的短暫性)，構建出一座既夢幻又諷刺的視覺寓言。她認為，這座王國既像童話樂園，也像真實的權力場域，表面的光鮮亮麗實則掩蓋了內在的危機與動盪，映射出現代社會光鮮外表下的人心慾望與結構性壓迫。透過彩墨與壓克力的媒材碰撞，葉修英探問著當代人在甜美幻象中的依附與迷失，迫使觀者反思：我們所追求的「勝利」與「權力」，是否也僅是另一種隨時會融化的海市蜃樓？

葉修英的藝術實踐，成功地將東方古典的墨韻美學轉譯為當代國際通用的視覺語彙。此次在印度國際藝術大賽獲獎，不僅是對她藝術探索的肯定，更標誌著台灣中生代藝術家在保存傳統精髓的同時，亦能以前衛的視角去回應該時代的集體印記，同時象徵著台灣水墨在當代語境下的延續與創新。她的作品在國際舞台上展現獨特的東方美學，同時也引發跨文化的共鳴。葉修英表示，她將持續透過水墨創作，探索古今文化的交會點，並以作品邀請觀者進入一場關於時間、記憶與感官的深層對話。

作品簡介：

作品〈山味〉以傳統山水畫筆法描繪古山，並將造型似山的冰淇淋置於碗中，形成古與今的對望。畫面結合東方山水的筆墨意境與現代日常的符號語彙，展現異質並置的幽默與詩意。透過水墨層次與細膩的形體轉換，藝術家嘗試讓觀者在熟悉與陌生之間產生新的視覺感受。

創作理念：

作品以古代山水為基調，結合現代冰淇淋的造型，形成一種時空錯置的對望。山象徵恆久與自然的精神，冰淇淋則代表當代生活的感官享受與瞬息即逝的甜美。兩者之間的凝視，既像古今文化的對話，也隱喻記憶與時間的流動。我希望藉由這樣的異質並置，喚起觀者對「傳統」與「現代」關係的再思考——當我們在快速變遷的時代中追求感官愉悅，是否也在不知不覺中讓歷史與文化逐漸融化？透過筆墨層次與形式轉化，我嘗試讓山與冰淇淋在畫面中達成一種微妙的平衡，展現東方審美在當代語境下的延續與轉化。

作品簡介：

作品〈冰淇淋王國〉以整齊排列的冰淇淋堆疊出宏偉的山形，底部的金字塔與延伸的V形構圖象徵勝利與權力。畫面甜美繽紛，卻蘊含緊張與壓迫的氣氛，如同一座光鮮亮麗卻隨時可能融化的王國。創作以「冰淇淋」作為當代消費文化的象徵，與「山」的傳統意象並置，構成既夢幻又諷刺的視覺寓言。

創作理念：

本作靈感源於日常媒體中不斷出現的權力爭奪畫面。冰淇淋被整齊排列成山的形狀，象徵權力的高塔與人心的慾望。底部金字塔的穩固結構與V形的延伸，代表勝利的象徵，同時也暗示權力金字塔的集中與壓迫。冰淇淋的甜美與融化，對比了華麗外表下潛藏的不安與脆弱。

創作將傳統山水畫中「山」的精神性轉化為「冰淇淋」的短暫性，形構出一種異質並置的張力。這座王國既像童話的樂園，也像現實的權力場域；其表面的秩序與光彩，其實掩藏著內在的危機與動盪。透過古今意象的融合，作品探問當代人在甜美幻象中的依附與迷失，也反思「勝利」是否真能帶來永恆。

[Exclusive Interview] Taiwanese Contemporary Artist Yeh Hsiu-Ying: Critical Reflections through “Heterogeneous Translation” and Micro-Aesthetics

With her distinctive “Morphomorphic Landscapes,” Yeh Hsiu-Ying wins the Special Merit Award at the 2026 International Fiesta Art Competition, India

The award-winning work “The Taste of Mountains,” which delivers a striking “ice-and-fire” visual experience to global audiences, has captivated the jury at the 2026 International Fiesta Art Competition, India. Dr. Rakesh Chaudhary, founder of the renowned Indian curatorial team Bindaas Artist Group, together with the jury panel, praised the work for its sophisticated juxtaposition of traditional Eastern ink aesthetics with bold incorporations of contemporary consumer symbols.

Rather than merely reproducing classical landscapes, Yeh’s creation operates as a cross-temporal act of “translation,” constructing a visual field that is at once familiar and unfamiliar, poetic yet infused with subtle humor. Using “landscape” as a conceptual medium, she explores the philosophical tension between tradition and modernity, permanence and transience. It is precisely within this tension—marked by the dynamic balance of brushwork, layered ink tones, and refined formal transformations—that Yeh’s distinctive concept of “Morphomorphic Landscapes” distinguished itself among numerous international masterpieces to earn the Special Merit Award. Holding an M.F.A. from National Taiwan Normal University, Yeh demonstrates a profound cultural grounding that resonates deeply across cultural boundaries.

Yeh’s ink paintings are imbued with poetic undertones and a latent sense of unease, offering a rare critical space within contemporary art. In “The Taste of Mountains,” she masterfully employs traditional cun (texturing) strokes to render rugged peaks, yet unexpectedly places mountain-shaped ice cream inside a dragon-patterned porcelain bowl, creating a striking “temporal dissonance.” As Yeh explains, “Mountains symbolize endurance and the spiritual essence of nature, while ice cream represents the fleeting sweetness of contemporary consumer culture. Their gaze becomes a metaphor for the flow of memory and time.” This act of heterogeneous juxtaposition conveys a sense of “melting” cultural anxiety: as we pursue extreme sensory gratification, do our solid historical traditions dissolve like ice cream under the scorching sun?

Another pivotal work, “Ice Cream Kingdom,” offers a macro-level insight into social structures and power dynamics. Inspired by the recurring imagery of power struggles in modern media, Yeh constructs monumental peaks from neatly arranged, brightly colored ice cream. The stable pyramid base and V-shaped composition symbolize the human longing for victory and dominance. However, beneath this sweetness lies a precarious instability. By transforming the spiritual permanence of mountains into the fragility of ice cream, Yeh constructs a visual allegory that is both fantastical and satirical. She views this kingdom as a “fairy-tale arena,” where surface brilliance conceals internal crises, mirroring the structural oppression and desire-driven nature of modern society.

Yeh Hsiu-Ying’s artistic practice successfully translates classical Eastern ink aesthetics into a visual language intelligible within the contemporary international art discourse. Her recognition in India validates her creative exploration and signals the ability of Taiwan’s mid-career artists to preserve cultural essence while responding to the collective imprints of the era with an avant-garde perspective. Yeh affirms that she will continue to explore the intersections of ancient and modern cultures, inviting global audiences into a profound dialogue on time, memory, and the senses.
